The in-betweeners

Today feels like the day-between.

Between moving and trying to enjoy Easter-Anzac weekend, and the start of a new school and trying to figure out the horrid NSW preschool system (you really get ripped off here as far as not having government funded preschool available for every child. I had no idea).

Miss I has been alternating between bouncing off the walls with nervous energy (no, it started before the chocolate onslaught) and subsiding into tears and tantrums (not her usual MO). Miss T has been sleeping horribly (after 2 months of excellent sleeping, it is coming as a bit of shock to my system, lol).

I am struggling to get the last few house things that made the move into an order I can feel happy with. We are missing a dining table and credenza, so I probably should not have bothered dragging along my beloved tea wares and silver, lol. Oh well. Good things come to those who…whatever.

Craving some sunshine on this overcast wet day in Sydney, so some pics to cheer me up :

The last pic has a very similar wall colour to what we have in our new rental (no-paint policy). I am trying to think of a colour scheme I can put with it without having to buy a whole new décor.

Hope you are all having a nice end to the long weekend. It is nice to be back blogging :)

Packing…again

Currently my time is being eaten up by the near endless task of packing our belongings, once again.

Hubs is travelling over again later this week to pick-up a load, but I am wishing we had just hired a truck.

Oh well. Too late for that now. It probably means that some things will have to be left behind for a couple of months however, until we can do another trip over around mid-year. Those “things” probably equal my beloved books and pretties – things that were only just being unpacked from the initial move over 12 months ago. To say I am getting over it would be an understatement. Sigh.

Camera is still on the blink, but I think it may be dodgy rechargable batteries (do they stop re-charging properly after a while??), so I am buying new batteries this week to try and share a couple of pics before things are packed away.

Until then, a few pretties…

Obviously I am being drawn towards spaces that are quite light and white with some wooden and metal textures…

What are you being drawn towards lately?

P.S. a new love

We splurged (haha) and got the Ikea PS cabinet for our (rental) living room. It holds the new tv that was our second purchase for the new house.

Here is the inspiration for how others have used the PS in ways I likie:

Maurice and King posted a heap of PS shots, I wont just copy them all over here. What I like about this particular shot is the PS cabinet paired with vintage shaped chair, great painting and a very affordable rug. We aren’t allowed to change the wall colour of our rental living room (and it is a dark beige, ick), but let’s hope I can make it work.
