Man-style styling

I need some ideas for accessorising the man-side of the bed.
DSCF4059
Hub’s bedside table is a bit bare.
He loves tolerates the mirror. I added the vintage bowl as a small catch-all for loose change etc.
Hub’s does not read in bed and isn’t keen on having a bedside lamp.
He dislikes the scent of flowers when going to sleep, so a pretty masculine vase with roses or similar is out, as is a cute manly ticking clock.

via House of Turquoise – what a beautiful view to wake to!
So:
lamp  flowers  clock  books
What does that leave?
Maybe a framed photo(s) to break-up the roundness of the mirror?
A small art work? Candle(s)? Tray?
Any ideas?

A framed photo would work. Here's an idea that's a bit out there. Grab a jar, or a small hurricane vase, and fill it with something like old skeleton keys or something that relates to his interests that has a rustic look.

A good place to look might be Funky Junk Interiors. Donna loves rust and does some awesome things around her home, with junk, that most blokes would readily accept.

Cheers,

A framed photo. I'd pick a leather frame (or a leather look a like, I found nice ones at IKEA).
I think that would look nice!

Tough client indeed Stephanie!
Lisa - I like that idea, might ake me some thinking and a little time, but think it would be cool.
My Secret Room - yes, a nice textured frame would be lovely.
Thanks for your ideas all!

I'd go for the frame, a bowl for little trinkets or a small favorite thingy. Have a lovely day, Kellie xx

That is a toughy, I'd say a small sculpture or maybe some vintage books with a neat bookend set. They're aren't as practical but he doesn't like the practical things. Bon chance!
